SIBLINGS

My older sister, Mavis, obviously a former pupil of St. Trinian's and now a head teacher (see OFSTED report for Long Bennington C of E Primary School) and organist at a prison. Her year as programme secretary of the South Shields Music Society reached its culmination when the Society folded (sorry, Mavis).

My favourite photograph (not hers) of my younger sister Denise, a brass band player at school who studied organ at the Royal Scottish Academy and eventually became a crematorium organist but failed her practical cremation exam (the organist having to help out when there is a rush on): she did not have sufficient physical strength to wield the heavy iron rake to scrape the ashes out of the furnace. She is now a psychiatric nurse.
